Online Course description
I look to teach people not just how to draw or the various methodolgies when you begin your artistic journey, but how to look at art in its entirety and realize that art isn't just an outlet of one's creativity, but a way to see reality in a completely different lens; beyond the realism, beyond the abstract. We learn the most about who we are when we give into a our passions and pursuits, and it is our duty to honour the paths we take in the endless journey of discovering who we are, why we are, and what we want to be.
You'll learn the basic fundamentals such as understanding shapes, deconstructing objects, perspective, and the importance of references and really studying your work. To then work into forming your own style so you can stand out and make your own mark in whatever sort of art form want to create. The style I will be teaching will be based around conceptual and abstract art, but I will also teach the value of colour theory and portrait work, and painting. Before being thrown in the deep end of any lesson, we will start off with the basic structures of each style; for example, before we do comic art, you're required to know basic shape and anatomy. It's **** to walk before you can run sometimes. Each lesson will end with a section where you are left to your own devices to recreate what was learnt in the lesson so you have an activity to do to display how much you were able to learn. You will be given assignments at the end of each class which will have to be completed before the next lesson, and you will be assigned an "End of course" project which will be a reflection of who you are and everything you have learnt.
In the end, there is no right or wrong — there is only your creativity and the limitless potential you hold; I just seek to bring it out.
