Have fun via Zoom creating a range of imagery, using expressive watercolour paint techniques. Emphasis is on colour and form. You will explore the use of Watercolour paints and what you can do with them.
You will have the chance to attend a mentoring session online or a hub session in Digbeth Birmingham.

Materials You Will Need:
Watercolour paints
Watercolour paper 200 – 300gsm
Mark making tools: A range of small and large brushes. (Rec: household paint brushes, old credit cards, palette knife etc) Small square of material, cling film, bubble wrap, salt, crayon, oil pastel, watercolour pencil, masking fluid, masking

Introduction – Equipment overview –
Paint and paper.
Brushes and tools.
Portfolios and notebooks.
Techniques –
Imagery.
Colour palette and mixing colour.
Working with the paper.
Use of mediums.
Creating texture.
Resists.
The use of sketches.
Critique your work.
Evaluate your progress.
Each session is two hours and 15 minutes with breaks via Zoom and will cover a range of techniques according to student needs. More than one session is recommended.
