How fast human minds have become in the 21st century compared to previous eras!! It’s like a miracle of science and technology, but you know what has arrived like a buy one get one free scheme with these smart minds?
Well, it's anxiety! It's ubiquitous and totally free!
It’s like a unique toy that works in a reverse manner to the basic function of toys. Everyone knows that joy is an output of playing with a toy. However, playing with anxiety gives you remorse. The more you play with it, the more it gets complicated and the more sadness and stress will be produced at the end of it.
A good amount of stress makes a person's mind create brilliant moves in the game of chess. If that pressure and stress become ten times more, the mind goes haywire, and my friend, that is what anxiety feels like.
Let’s get some detailed information about this contemporary epoch’s trending health issues, especially mental health issues.
Myriad factors can cause anxiety; some are stuck with people from their childhood, and some are due to sudden unpleasant scenarios and recent bad events happening in their ongoing life. Childhood traumas like parents’ divorce, fighting and screaming when parents have an argument, bullying in school by seniors, teachers, or classmates, bad events like someone close’s death or leaving one of their guardians, etc.
Recent events such as displacement of home due to business or war, having breakups in a relationship, cheating and trust issues, unemployment, bad results, being fired from a job or a bad interview could be the reason for triggering anxiety in both kids and adults.
Particular things can give you an idea about a kid or a person if they’re having an anxiety issue or not. The things presented below are some of the signs to look out for.
· When a person’s schedule suddenly changes without a specific reason,
· incapable of performing simple tasks.
· Thinking about things in an overly frequent manner when not needed
· The span of attention decreases.
· Consumption disorder
· A sleep disorder
· A sudden eruption of emotions
· Optimism becomes pessimism.
· Start avoiding social gatherings and even fewer outings with friends and relatives.
· Become angry and clingy all the time.
· Most of the time, my eyes are filled with tears.
· Wetting the mattress
More unique symptoms you can notice since they differ from person to person’s behavior and past experiences.
Mind it that it is a normal "thing" among all the age groups; it’s not a disease, so it cannot be cured; albeit, there are some ways which you can implement in your children’s lives to alleviate the overpowered stress - Anxiety.
· Have a conversation with your child about it and make them understand it’s not your fault, it’s natural, and it’s alright.
· Make them understand how to watch out for the symptoms and their root and adverse effects on them.
· Introduce kids and adults to breathing techniques and meditating methods that will help them to stay focused and have a clear mind.
· Try teaching stress transformation through art forms such as drawing, painting, or writing poems or journals.
· Let them face those situations and teach them the simple concept of feeling and letting go since they are momentous feelings.
· Don’t force your dreams and incomplete goals in your life onto them because it will create a huge pressure on them which will sometime in the future burst out in the form of anxiety and anger. Not only that, but they won’t be able to choose their favorite field for fear of your pressure.
· Make them watch good and uplifting TV shows or movies that contain positivity, hopefulness, and some great life lessons.
· If you like, you can give small rewards of affection, such as hugs, cuddles, or sweets, in response to good control over a stressful situation.
· Make them develop the habit of reading since it’s a great way to get distracted from anxious situations, give novice information, teach new tricks and tactics, increase their imagination power, and in the end, it’s a perfect way to escape from reality for a temporary time period.
· Don’t just say "stay calm" to your child; instead teach them how to stay calm by doing yoga, exercise, and meditation on a regular basis.
· Make your child mentally strong and teach them to never give up. Whatever the situation is, face it.
· Create a rule or some kind of arrangement through which your child can communicate with you without any pressure and be able to ask for your help in low times.
So, these are the ways that might be helpful if you use them according to your own techniques to make your child mentally strong and humble enough to face any emotional or stressful scenario without fear of anxiety.
Well, you’ll come across a lot of content about what to do when your kid is anxious, but here are some suggestions for what not to do while you or your child is anxious:
· Do not follow or turn toward the wrong path. In other words, stay away from taking the wrong medications, which are temporarily helpful, but in the long term, by making it a habit, it might become dangerous to one’s health both physically and mentally. Euphoria - A TV Show is a prime example of what the worst can happen to those people who have chosen the short-term, pleasure-given pathway.
· Do not overthink, especially negatively. It will lead you to an unwanted solution, one that is wrong and bad for you as well as your family.
