This dance course will be open to all who are excited to tap into their creativity, learn some new dance styles, heal through dance and express themselves through movement. Participants will learn a fusion mix of dance styles such as African, ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, and liturgical dance. The dance course will have 5 different elements within a one-and-a-half-hour period. Element One will be an ice breaker, Where each participant will share their individual dance experience, background and answer the question " what does joy mean to you? Element two will be our warm-up experience, Each participant will follow my lead to an inspiring warm-up that motivates them. Element three will be choreography, Participants will learn dance movements to a particular song that is infused with creativity, expression, and engagement. Element four will be group work. Each participant will be placed in small breakout groups while encouraging them to connect with each other and create their own mini dance choreography and share out as we encourage each other. Element five is cool down and affirmations, Participants will cool down their bodies to meditative music and affirmation of a call and response such as " I am great", I love myself" and I will never give up".
