How to become a Leisure Tutor?

An experienced maker, creator, or artist might teach to earn extra income from the creative business

To be a tutor, you must enjoy meeting new people, talking about your art, and motivating others to be more creative and acquire new skills

We've put together a step-by-step guide to becoming a Leisure Tutor.

1 - Sign-up

If you have your own creative workshop and you run online or in-person courses and classes, signup as a leisure tutor with myhobbycourses. You can teach any course or class as a leisure tutor.

2 - Qualifications

When it comes to teaching arts and crafts workshops, there are no mandatory qualifications required. However, it would be beneficial to have some prior experience or understanding of teaching methods and how individuals perceive and learn (of course, different individuals perceive and learn in different ways).

3 - Complete your Profile and Verification

Once signed up as a leisure tutor, it is imperative to complete your profile (personal info) and carry out certain verifications like email, mobile, address, social media, DBS, credit card, and references.

4 - Publish Your First Course

To publish an in-person course , you need to add two mandatory things, MY TUTORS  and MY VENUES .

My Tutors

Add your details or if you have other tutors in your workshop, you can add them as well in your My Tutors list.

My Venues

You can add here the location or address of your workshop. It is crucial to add the venue to publish an in-person course

Once you’re done adding the My Tutors and My Venues, you can now publish the course. Add an attractive and self-descriptive course title, descriptions, requirements, and course schedules. Hit "publish" to publish the course once you have added all the required information.

5 - Share with others

Lastly, tell your friends, family, and followers to check out your course!

Why teach on MyHobbyCourses?

Every time a student enrols in your course, you will be compensated. Additionally, creating courses is easy with our user-friendly platform.
Tutor registration or publishing courses is a free process. Tutors are not charged for anything. They get 100% of their earnings. We charge only a 5% commission to students.

How to get paid for courses?

Why am I not getting any pin code for mobile verification?

Users can get SMS for pin code 3 times in 24 hours. If you haven’t got any code for the first attempt, make sure you have entered a valid UK number that contains 10 or 11 digits without country code. I completed the profile and verifications what to do next?

What are My Tutors and My Venues? Why do I need to add them before publishing courses?

Before publishing an in-person or online course, you need to add My Tutors and My Venues.
In My Tutors, you can add yourself or any other colleague working with you on your workshop.
In My venues, you need to add your workshop address. You can also list your workshop in My venues and you can select that venue for your in-person course.

What is meant by “Places Available” in Publishing Course Form?

That means how many students can buy your session. Let's say you select 10 so only 10 students will be able to buy your session after reaching that particular limit the course will be closed.

What is meant by “Sessions to attend” in Publishing Course Form?

It means how many classes or hourly sessions they have to attend. For example, a course pertains to 10 classes or sessions of 1 hour on different days, so you will decide that and set the schedule for that accordingly.

What is meant by “Class/batch strength” in Publishing Course Form?

It means how many students are allowed to attend your class. Once a particular limit is reached, your course will be closed to accept the bookings. However, you can update the course dates and schedules later at any time.

What is a “Class Schedule” in Publishing Course Form?

Once students decide to get registered for a particular course, it’s really important to get time slots that are in line with their availability to attend the classes. Hence, it is a prerequisite to provide a thorough class schedule.
