Brazilian Portuguese for beginners

If you have never studied Portuguese before, this course can be a **** way to start. For your planned holiday to Brazil, for business, or to follow your dreams of learning a new language, we can help you master the basics. Classes will be taught by a native Brazilian who lives in London, with experience of teaching both Portuguese and English language, you can learn vocabulary, grammar and beginner sentences for starting a conversation and for making the most of your time in Brazil! Over the course, you will learn basic knowledge and essential communication skills in Brazilian Portuguese, and classes can also be customised for students interests and needs, through an agreement between teacher and students, as a way of achieving goals and exceeding expectations. Lessons will be aimed at beginners to the Portuguese language and will provide a fast track for developing conversational Portuguese whilst learning the grammar and structure of the language. Students with previous experience of learning other Latin languages, such as Spanish, can develop their Portuguese language skills quicker, as the grammar structures are similar. Below is a quick description of the introductory classes on my course. Lesson 1 – Greetings and Introduction – First steps in a conversation in Portuguese, greeting and introducing yourself or someone else. Lesson 2 – Asking and giving personal details – Learning how to use numbers in a practical way: age, birthdays, phone numbers etc. Lesson 3 – Daily Routine – learning about the periods of day and how to describe your routine. Lesson 4 – Location – places in the city, prepositions, directions. Lesson 5 – Shopping – how to ask for prices, different sizes, payment. As mentioned previously, the classes can be customised according to the students’ interests (fashion, sports, music, business…), but also when I, as the teacher, identify that some of the topics may need to be reviewed or reinforced. Classes will include interactive conversations and activities, where learners can practice their speaking, listening, reading, and writing. This well-rounded approach during the classes will provide a solid baseline for learning the basics of the Portuguese language.
